Technique Tips: 90 Degree Angles In Chair
In Pure Barre, the Chair position and the Reverse Chain position - both used for thigh work - are all about 90 degree angles. When doing either position during class, check in to make sure you have a 90 degree angle with your knees and ankles as well as your shoulders and hips. This means your shoulders are stacked over your hips and your knees are stacked over your ankles. Finding perfect alignment in this position helps project your joints and sends the work to the target muscle: your thighs.
